Terms of Use

1. Who you're agreeing with

Maargin ("Maargin", "we", "us") is a product of Northcue Technologies, operated by Dhruv Shah, based in India. By creating an account or using Maargin, you're entering into this agreement with Northcue Technologies.

2. What Maargin is — and isn't

Maargin helps freelancers estimate pricing, draft contracts and invoices, and assess project risk using AI. It is a drafting and decision-support tool, not a substitute for legal, tax, or financial advice.

Pricing recommendations are estimates based on the information you provide and general market patterns — they are not a guarantee of what any client will pay or accept.

AI-generated contracts, clauses, and invoices are starting points. You are responsible for reviewing, adapting, and — where the stakes warrant it — having a qualified lawyer review any document before sending it to a client or relying on it commercially.

This is the same advisory-only disclaimer shown in-product wherever a contract draft is generated, and it applies equally here to your account and your use of Maargin as a whole: "This draft is generated from clause templates and your project's details. It is a starting point, not legal advice. For larger engagements or regulated industries, have a qualified lawyer review it before sending to a client."

3. Your account

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login credentials confidential. You're responsible for activity that happens under your account.

Your country, once set, cannot be changed — it underpins pricing and currency logic throughout the product. Choose carefully during onboarding.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use Maargin.

4. Subscriptions and payments

Paid plans (Pro, Max) renew automatically on a monthly basis until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from Settings → Billing. Cancellation takes effect immediately — your account reverts to Free-tier limits right away, not at the end of the billing period. You will not be charged again after cancelling.

Payments are processed by Razorpay (India) or Paddle (outside India). We do not currently offer refunds for partial or unused billing periods, except where required by law.

We reserve the right to change plan pricing with reasonable advance notice to existing subscribers.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use Maargin to generate content intended to deceive or defraud a client, to scrape or abuse the AI systems, to attempt to circumvent usage limits, or to violate any applicable law.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe are abusing the service.

6. Intellectual property

You retain ownership of the project details, descriptions, and content you submit, and of the quotes, contracts, and invoices generated for your projects.

Maargin retains ownership of the underlying product, software, designs, and brand. Nothing in these terms transfers that to you.

7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Maargin is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. AI-generated output may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies, and we make no guarantee of its legal validity or enforceability in any jurisdiction.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Maargin and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including lost income or disputes with your clients — arising from your use of pricing recommendations, contracts, or other AI-generated content. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

8. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings, provided you don't have an active paid subscription (cancel it first). We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these terms.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated by email or an in-app notice before they take effect.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of Maargin will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
