Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Maargin ("Maargin", "we", "us") is operated by Dhruv Shah, an individual based in India, as a sole proprietor. Maargin has not yet been incorporated as a separate legal entity — until it is, Dhruv Shah personally is the data controller and counterparty for this policy, and references to "Maargin" below mean that individual operating under the Maargin name. If and when Maargin incorporates, this policy will be updated to name the incorporated entity and that entity will assume these obligations.

2. Information we collect

Account information: your email address and authentication credentials, managed by our authentication provider, Supabase. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your name and profile picture from that provider.

Onboarding information: your stated role, years of experience, how you heard about us, and your main goal — collected once after signup to tailor your experience. This is never used to personalize AI-generated content (see Section 3).

Project and quote information: profession, project type, scope, description, pricing, and deadline details you enter into the Quote Wizard.

Analyzer and negotiation content: messages and project descriptions you submit to the Risk Analyzer or negotiation tools.

Payment information: handled entirely by our payment processors, Razorpay and Paddle. We never receive or store your card or bank details.

Usage data: which features you use and how often, for the purpose of enforcing plan limits and improving the product.

3. How AI processing works

Quote descriptions, Analyzer messages, and contract requests are sent to our AI model provider to generate pricing recommendations, risk assessments, contract clauses, and negotiation scripts.

Personalization of this AI output is driven solely by the details of the specific project you provide (profession, project type, deliverables) — never by your account-level role or onboarding answers.

We do not use your project data, quotes, or messages to train AI models.

AI-generated content (pricing, contracts, risk assessments) is provided as a drafting aid. You are responsible for reviewing it before relying on it commercially or sending it to a client — see our Terms of Use for the full disclaimer.

4. Payments and subscriptions

Subscription payments are processed by Razorpay (for customers in India) and Paddle (for customers elsewhere). Both are PCI-DSS compliant payment processors; we never see or store full card numbers.

Paddle acts as the merchant of record for non-India transactions and handles applicable sales tax/VAT on our behalf.

5. Data retention and deletion

Quotes, contracts, and Analyzer history are kept in your account until you delete them individually or delete your account.

Deleting your account permanently removes your projects, quotes, contracts, and analysis history from our systems. Subscription and payment records may be retained longer where required by tax or accounting law.

You can request a copy or deletion of your data at any time by contacting us (Section 8).

6. Cookies and local storage

We use strictly necessary cookies and local/session storage to keep you signed in and remember basic preferences such as your theme. These cannot be disabled, as the product does not function without them.

With your consent (set via the privacy choices menu in your account), we use Vercel Web Analytics and Google Analytics to understand which features are used, in aggregate — neither collects personally identifying information. We do not currently use any marketing or advertising cookies.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly from your account settings, or by contacting us.
